Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to ‘the non-compliances and exemptions’ listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
The CAPTCHA used on the, Request a home fire safety check form is not currently accessible, as it requires users to complete a drag-and-drop activity that cannot be operated using a keyboard and therefore excludes keyboard-only and many assistive technology users. If skipped, the alternative challenge relies on interpreting images, which is not accessible to blind or visually impaired users. This means the CAPTCHA fails to meet several WCAG 2.2 success criteria, including 1.1.1 Non-text Content, 2.1.1 Keyboard, 2.5.1 Pointer Gestures, and 2.5.7 Dragging Movements, as well as potentially 3.3.2 Labels or Instructionsand 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value. An accessible, non-visual, and non-pointer-dependent verification method will be implemented to resolve this issue.
