Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service are inviting applications from individuals to join the Driver Training team, working at Service Training Centre and other locations as a Driver Trainer. The role is available to individuals who have a minimum of 2 years’ response driving experience, held an LGV (category C) entitlement for at least 3 years and hold a current Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) qualification.  Willingness to complete an initial programme of personal development appropriate to the role and individual needs (This may be completed on a modular basis) and willingness to maintain competence through programmed course delivery and attending further development are required.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with the Driver Training team to assist in the development of driver competence across all areas of LFRS

Please note that the working hours and remuneration for this post are currently under review as the Service considers the impact from the implementation of Section 19 of the Road Traffic Act in relation to working practices, and the requirement for the post holder to undertake driver training during weekend and evening/night-time hours.
