This is an exciting opportunity for outstanding professionals to join our Protection Team undertaking the role of Fire Safety Inspector, in Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.
In the role of Fire Safety Inspector, you will be required to inspect premises in accordance with Service policy to enforce relevant fire safety legislation and also provide fire safety and risk assessment advice, and guidance. You will be building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues across the Service and with Building Control bodies, Local Authorities and other regulatory agencies as well as taking an active part in transforming our Fire Protection Services as we continue to adapt to changes in fire safety regulations. Grey Book Fire Safety Inspectors are required to maintain operational awareness.
The role of Fire Safety Inspector is open to competent Crew Managers and Watch Managers with a current Incident Command licence that have a minimum Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety or equivalent fire safety related qualification or significant experience working as a regulator.
Please note this is a functional promotion ringfenced pathway for Grey Book staff – Further to successful appointment within Fire Safety and wanting to transfer into an operational role, Watch and Crew Managers are required to complete two years in current role (within Fire Safety) and apply via the Services Supervisory Manager Talent Gateway process which includes successfully completing the operational assessment ‘Safe to Command/ICL1’ and a Fit to Ride process. Alternatively, they can revert to operations in their substantive rank.
