At 09:15 on December 3, 2024, three fire engines from Darwen and Blackburn, along with the Aerial Ladder Platform from Hyndburn, responded to a fire at a commercial building on Duckworth Street, Darwen. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used one hose reel to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for just under three hours.
