At 15:42 on the 3rd August 2024, four fire engines from Hyndburn, Burnley and Nelson attended a derelict building fire on Burnley Road, Padiham. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used three hose reels, a thermal imaging camera and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for three hours and thirty minutes.
