At 17:24 on the 1st August 2024, three fire engines from Penwortham, Bamber Bridge and Preston attended a derelict building fire on Factory Lane, Penwortham. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reels, ventilation unit and partner saw to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for three hours and thirty minutes.
