At 21:46 on Monday 4 November 2024, eight fire engines from Preston, Bamber Bridge, Fulwood, Penwortham, Hyndburn, and Blackburn, along with one command unit from Blackburn and two aerial ladder platforms from Preston and Hyndburn, attended a derelict building fire on Mount Street in Preston. Firefighters used four hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. Fire crews were in attendance for approximately fifteen hours and thirty minutes.
