At 21:25 on 24 May, two fire engines from Nelson attended a domestic building fire on Southfield Street, Nelson. Firefighters used one hose reel, two breathing apparatus, and a positive-pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. One casualty was treated by firefighters before being placed in the care of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) paramedics and conveyed to the hospital. Crews were in attendance for two hours.
