On March 15th 2025 at 20:52, three fire engines from Darwen and Blackburn attended a domestic property fire on Birch Hall Avenue in Darwen. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used one hose reel and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. Two casualties were taken to the hospital by the North West Ambulance Service. Crews were in attendance for two hours.
