At 14:32 hours on 17th March 2025, three fire engines from Leyland, Penwortham, and Tarleton were called to a house fire on Back Lane East, Mawdesley. On arrival, the fire service dealt with a boiler flue. Four breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, a gas monitor, and one positive pressure ventilation fan were used. Fire crews were in attendance for approximately two hours and thirty minutes.
