On 29th November 2024, at 19:11 hours, four fire engines from Chorley, Bamber Bridge, Preston, and Fulwood, along with a water bowser from Leyland, attended a fire on Chapel Lane, Heapey. The fire involved a large quantity of hay bales. Firefighters used three jets to tackle the blaze. The incident is still ongoing.
