On 27th March 2025 at 15.38 hours one fire engine from Bacup, two four wheel drive vehicles from Bacup and Rawtenstall and one wildfire unit from Rawtenstall attended High Barn Lane, Whitworth, Rochdale to reports of a moorland fire. The fire service used beaters and blowers. Crews were in attendance for approximately three hours.
