At 20:36 on 21 May, four fire engines from Hyndburn, Chorley, Great Harwood, and Preston, together with an aerial ladder platform from Preston and an urban search and rescue team with several specialist appliances, attended a rescue at height incident on Grange Lane, Accrington. Firefighters used a Husqvarna saw, a triple extension ladder, and small tools to rescue two casualties at height. One casualty was then placed in the care of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) paramedics before being taken to the hospital. Crews were in attendance for an hour and thirty-five minutes.
