At 11:50 on 28 August, two fire engines from Hyndburn attended a road traffic collision on Dunkenhalgh Way, Clayton le Moors, Accrington. The incident involved one vehicle that had left the roadway. Firefighters used a rope pack and a 10.5m ladder to rescue one casualty, before placing them in the care of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) paramedics. Crews were in attendance for approximately an hour.
