At 20:21 on 20th July 2024, two fire engines from Hyndburn Fire Station and urban search and rescue appliances attended a road traffic collision where a car had crashed into a domestic property on Newthorn in Oswaldtwistle. Firefighters extricated one casualty using Holmatro cutting and spreading equipment. Two casualties were then conveyed from the scene to the hospital by North West Ambulance Service. The fire service was in attendance for approximately one hour.
