At 12:54 on 25th February 2025, three fire engines from Leyland, Penwortham, and Tarleton attended an incident on Poppyfields in Hesketh Bank. The fire involved a van that had spread to the attached garage of a domestic property. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.
