At 15:16 on 9 April 2025, fire engines from Blackpool and Fulwood attended a fire on the M55 Westbound between junctions two and three. The fire involved a vehicle and surrounding grass verge. Fire crews used two hose reels and one breathing apparatus. Crews were in attendance for approximately an hour and five minutes.
