At 16:49 on 30 August, two fire engines from Ormskirk attended a road traffic collision on Southport Road, Scarisbrick. The incident involved two vehicles. Firefighters used Holmatro equipment to release one casualty from inside their vehicle before placing the individual in the care of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) paramedics. They were in attendance for fifty minutes.
