New Chair and Vice Chair of The Lancashire Combined Fire Authority appointed

On Monday 24 June, County Councillor Nikki Hennessy was appointed as the new Chair of The Lancashire Combined Fire Authority.

Nikki, a member of the Labour Party, became a County Councillor in 2013 and joined The Combined Fire Authority in 2017.

County Councillor Hennessy is a Borough Councillor in West Lancashire where she resides and she has been a member of the Territorial Army for over 30 years. Previously, Nikki has worked in the NHS, West Lancashire Borough Council, Council of Voluntary Service, Public Health and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.

Nikki says:

“I am delighted to have been voted in as Chair of The Combined Fire Authority. My short time working in the Prevention Support Team at Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service’s headquarters gave me a great love and affection for the service.

“Having been a member of The Combined Fire Authority for seven years, I know that Lancashire has one of the best fire and rescue services in the country.
