At 22:36 on 8th February, 2025, three fire engines from Bamber Bridge and Chorley, along with an aerial ladder platform from Preston, attended a chimney fire on Preston Road, Clayton-le-Woods. Firefighters used a hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera, lighting equipment, a 10.5-meter ladder, and a rope rescue pack to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for three hours and 20 minutes.
