New Assistant Chief Fire Officer appointed

The Chief Fire Officer is delighted to announce that Samantha Pink, the Assistant Director of Response at Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, has been appointed as the service’s new Assistant Chief Fire Officer.

Samantha joined the fire and rescue service in 2005 when she started out as a firefighter at West Midlands Fire Service before transferring to Hereford and Worcester in May 2020.

In her current role, Samantha is responsible for response and previously has worked in several departments building extensive experience and knowledge in community risk management.

Prior to joining the fire and rescue service, Samantha completed 14 years as a nurse in the NHS and has a passion for caring for people in trauma care.

Samantha says: "I am thrilled to assume the position of Assistant Chief Fire Officer. Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service is an incredible organisation with an outstanding team. I will be proud to lead and be part of this professional and progressive organisation building on the strength and successes of the Service as one professional team as we strive to enhance safety of our communities across Lancashire."

Justin Johnston said: “I am delighted that Samantha will be joining us from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service. After a challenging recruitment process, with really strong candidates, Samantha’s substantial track record of delivery and passion shone through in the interview. She will bring fresh ideas and will complement the team in continuing to drive Lancashire’s innovation, culture and performance.”

Samantha will start the role as the service’s Director of Service Delivery in the coming months
